Sheila Walsh consistently writes books that speak from her heart for the hearts of so many that need an encouraging word. When I see a new book that Sheila has written, I always smile from reading the title alone and think of how much I can relate. God Loves Broken People: And Those Who Pretend They're Not is no different.
I've heard Sheila Walsh speak a handful of times in and out of the Women of Faith environment and digging into the first chapter, I can hear her quiet soothing voice speaking each word. In this book, she talks on a level that is so personal that you can't help but like her and wish she was a friend you were having coffee with. She expresses that if there was only one book she could write in her lifetime, it would be this book.
She pours her heart out and pleads with you that it really is okay not to be okay but she doesn’t just leave it at that. She guides you through scripture references and how God can transform your hurts into something holy! She addresses her experiences with depression and medication as well. I would recommend this book to anyone because even if you think you’re not broken, you know someone who is and as the title indicates, that might be you!
