Dr Pepper to deliver on its free soda promise!

LOS ANGELES – Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality. The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.

Dr Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc.

Do you have a Starbucks rewards card?

Walt has cut back on his Starbucks purchases since finding RaceTrac's coffee that he likes for $1! He used to go to Starbucks every Friday morning as a treat and now he goes to RaceTrac instead. Once a month or so, he goes to Starbucks to indulge.

Today and tomorrow, Starbucks is giving you a free Vivanno beverage with your registered Starbucks card. They looked at me like I was crazy but I went, didn't purchase anything else, they swiped my registered card and it was FREE! Walt accidentally threw away the one he got as a gift and so he got another one for me with $5 on it so that I could have it for today. Last night, he asked about the promo this weekend and they looked at him like he was crazy but gave him a coupon for one to order on his next visit! (good through 9/30/08)

This morning, I followed him to our local Starbucks, he ordered his monthly treat off the card. Then I ordered my banana chocolate smoothie on a separate transaction. They were surprised it worked and it was free. Now I still have the free coupon for a later date! That was $5 well spent last night! Three drinks plus a little change left on the card.

The rewards card gives you other free stuff too. (I think it's on the web.) When he got the original gift card, you register online and they sent a postcard for a free drink.

Free vitamins

Speaking of mail, I had an email from NatureMade about getting a free 14 day supply of your favorite vitamin. They have these new liquid softgel kind they are trying to get the word out about! I ordered them and got my sample less than a week later. (despite the 6-8 weeks warning!) Get yours while supplies last!

Free CD and great ministry!

A couple weeks ago, I was checking out church websites in the area of where we'll be moving and one click led to another and I found myself on a website for a free music CD! Not one to pass up something free, I signed up and today I got not one free CD but 10! So those from my Prestonwood class, I will be bringing the other 9 CDs to class this Sunday. If you're not in my Prestonwood class, use this site to order your own free copy. (www.rickgoad.com) If you get 10, please pass the other 9 on. This CD is an easy listening style Christian CD. Very worshipful!

Great info below of the ministry from their website:

Rick Goad Ministries was formed in August 2006 by Rick Goad. Though Rick was battling pancreatic cancer, he felt compelled to begin a ministry of encouragement and hope. He completed a CD, entitled My Miracle, not long before he passed from this earth on January 6, 2007. Rick knew this CD would bless so many who suffer from depression, despair, grief, or loneliness. This album is uniquely touched by God though a heart that was thirsting after Him. You have to hear it to appreciate Rick's talent and the relationship he shared with our Lord. His goal was to give 1 million copies away FREE! His wife, Jackie, keeps this vision alive by distributing her husband's CD. Tens of thousands have already been given away.
